It's finally here!

Phase 2a is completed and sort of tested, so now it's time for it to go out to Patreon members.

This has got so many updates, most are outlined on the changelog on the main menu, but here's a breakdown of the key stuff:

  • Options menu upgraded to have content settings
  • Questlog upgraded
  • Foliage now fully procedural
  • Wolves fully persistent. They generate on character creation and the same ones show up on various levels, retaining damage, anger, lust and so on
  • Cash system
  • Killed enemies drop loot
  • Proper evening > morning cutscene in Pineridge
  • Parts of Pineridge improved
  • Items now collect when you walk over them
  • Item pickups are nicer, and you get a notification of what it was
  • Some wildlife

There's a ton of bugs gone as well.

The main question is what's up next?

So, what is next?

Mostly character models, and animation. There's some stuff improving enemy ai as well. The current list is as follows:

So, a quick breakdown of each of them:

Improve Hornlizard

It should sit on you until you get captured, then take off and hover until you're done. Once you attune to it, you should be able to command it to do things.

Finish Wildlife

I added deer to the Release level. The idea is to have them scatter as you run. I also created a feral wolf that will chase. Both of these were added to the Forest spawner, but for some reason they don't activate if spawned, only when manually placed. So they've been cut for now. There should be wildlife roaming and moving around the levels as well.

AI Upgrades

Some of the enemies are as dumb as shit

Character Attribute colourpicker

The current plan is to have 3 male and 3 female player characters, with some customisation of body. You should be able to set some colour options too.

Interactive Sex

One of the big ones. Masturbate a wolf with mouse movements and so on. Turns a static cutscene into a minigame.

Improved enemy movement

Wolves should be able to run using all fours. Enemies should be able to climb over obstacles, jump, block attacks and so on.

Clothing

More clothes. Clothes with helpful attributes.

Pineridge Events & Quests

There's an entire questline currently written in to Pineridge for one of the NPCs. It all works. The only thing missing is the animations to end each story path. The Innkeeper has a sex option as well. This is also not implemented. All thats missing is animations.

Improved Player Movement

Climbing. Vaulting, dodging, rolling.

Capture while recovering

When you sit there masturbating to recover stamina, you should be vulnerable. When an enemy finds you, they should be able to interrupt and take over.

Hair

We need hairstyles. Customisable ones.

Improve NPC Wandering

One of the new systems in this version is NPC wandering. They have locations around town to go to and do things. Right now they just go and stop before moving on a few seconds later. Each location should have a selection of options for an NPC to do when they get there. If it's a coffee shop, they should be able to purchase coffee then sit down. If another NPC is at that location, they should chat. Sometimes both might walk together to another place.

Character models

3 female PCs, 3 Male PCs, wolves and badgers all need better models. This one is a huge task.


The End

The original plan for Phased releases was to do a 2-3 week intensive development for each phase, with only the end of phase being a public release but each sub-phase being Patreon exclusives. This is clearly not going to work when sub-phases are taking months apiece. So I'll give this a few weeks on Patreon before doing a public release of it. As a final note, the other plan was to get it to an Early Access stage and stick it up on Steam, with this version as the demo and Steam having all the worlds. I don't think that's viable, so I'll be doing a paid version on Itch.io. All new features will be shared with the free version, but it'll be restricted to just the Forest world.
