Progress? Not much.
There's been a few updates, but generally Phase 2a has not completed yet. I've been bogged down with model commissions and app development that provide a more immediate income, so they have had to take priority.
Released Level
It was so broken. The problem was the wolves didn't spawn because of the wolf updates and how they're now pre-generated at Character Creation. This was easy. Delete all the wolves, then add in a spawner in each cage for the new wolves, and modify it slightly so the wolves get their allocation direct from the saved wolves array. Basically there's 20 saved wolves in the array, and 20 wolves spawning, so spawner 0 spawns wolf 0, spawner 1 spawns Wolf 1 and so on.
Secondary Loadscreens
This is a thing that was added to the open forest levels. When the main loading screen completes, it fires off the Building... loadscreen where the procedural and level setup stuff happens in the background. This has now been added to every level. Character builder, Pineridge, Worldmap, Dungeons, Shop, Forest Boss and the Released level.
This makes it more consistant and hides any slowness on slower systems.
Questlog
The Questlog in the inventory screen got upgraded. In theory it's now possible to have more than one quest running at the same time, so it now shows all active quests, and you can change tab to see the old quests too.
Pineridge
When I get spare time, Pineridge gets some work done on it. The latest improvements are to the ramp leading from the bridge to the upper town. The first two slopes on the ramp are now wider and have both steps and a ramp. The barriers are also now see-through glass.
Whats in the Work queue?
This fuckin' thing keeps changing.
- The Night Before Quest - update day transition
- Various camera bugs
- Enemies showing as NONE
- Add PCG to foliage in Open Levels
- Hornlizard
- Orgasm meter for enemies
- Landscape deform for plants
- Options Upgrades
Most of those are things already discussed. The new bits are the orgasm meter, which will modify how enemy masturbation works. Their stats will be used to calculate how much the bar fills or empties with each stroke. This is more a proof of concept for procedural fucking later down the line.
The next change is Landscape deform. When planttraps are spawned, they clip through the terrain. They have an inner model you can't see cos of the ground. When these guys get placed, the terrain should deform around them.
Finally, Options upgrades. The Options Menu is getting split into Graphics, Audio, Controls and Content with a tab system to go through them all. The first three are existing things, just slightly updated and made to fit the new styling. Content is new. It's going to be used to set what content can be seen in the game. This will give it a SFW mode, ability to remove gender pairings, and different bits and pieces like the plant vore and so on.
There have been suggestions that violence should be an option here, but the game modes when you register should handle that.
Next?
This game needs some progression. So, I've gone through and updated the Steam Features part on Trello. These are tasks that I feel need to be completed so I can properly Early Access the game.
- Animation Gallery
- Character control Rig
- Backtrace Bug Reporting
- Updated Males and Females
- Paint on Meshes for fluids
As well as Phase 2b and 2c items.
That's it for now!
